Do You Know Your Personal Truth?

Do you know your unique, personal truth?

It's a question that goes deeper than it appears, especially when we consider how cultural messages and familial programming shape our identity.

Many of us, whether we mean to or not, navigate life based on a script we didn't write, adhering to roles and behaviors that have been imposed upon us from an early age.

This conditioning can be so ingrained that we mistake these learned responses and beliefs for our own, believing them to be our personal truth.

But let's consider the story of a client who thought she hated confrontation. It was her personal truth. Through our sessions, she uncovered that this belief stemmed from her childhood conditioning to avoid upsetting anyone and to always assume it was her fault in any conflict.

Initially, her aversion to confrontation and her guilt in conflicts felt like her genuine self. However, as we delved deeper, she realized these were conditioned behaviors, not her true feelings, let alone her personal truth!

Her journey exemplifies the transformative process of coaching with me. By questioning her long-held belief and exploring the roots of her behavior, she discovered her actual truth, leading to a fulfilling and empowering conversation with her husband.

This is not just about improving a single aspect of life; it's about unveiling the layers that obscure our genuine nature and potential.

Understanding and embracing your unique truth is a profound and liberating experience. It allows you to live authentically, making decisions that align with your inner values and desires rather than conforming to external expectations. This alignment leads to a sense of empowerment and fulfillment, as you begin to live a life that is genuinely yours, resonating with your core being.

Wherever you are on your journey of discovering your personal truth, I’m here to be a guide.

I’d love to chat with you about it. Book a FREE 15-minute call HERE and let’s discover if now is the right time and if I’m the right coach to guide you on your journey to truth.

This Blew My Client’s Mind!

In today’s “All Time Favorite Episode” of Uncover and Elevate you’ll hear the story about a recent session where the client was totally blown away!

We were working with a “problem” she was having at home. Her inner critic was working overtime to keep her feeling diminished and like a failure.

One of the special things about one-on-one coaching is using my intuition to decide which tool will help a client the most in that moment.

I nailed it because she was totally blown away and had a HUGE breakthrough! And that’s what I love about the work I do!

10 Tips for a Life of Delight

Are you craving a little delight in your life?

I recently created a free guide with my 10 Tips for Delight & Desire and you can get it right here!

We all need a little inspiration for rediscovering delight and desire! It’s so easy to slip away from the demands of life.

What I’ve discovered over the last few years is that when I look for what delights me and explore  my desires, I end up coming back into my truth. Into my authentic self-expression!

Our delights and desires are part of our unique ‘fingerprint’ in the world so they are key to finding and expressing our authentic nature.

Not the version of ourselves we became in order to fit in, or keep the peace or feel safe and loved. Those are conditioned versions of ourselves that can feel authentic, but that’s just because we’re so familiar with them! Your authentic self is confident, doesn’t take things personally and knows that you are the prize! You are the gift! You are THE ONE!

If you’re struggling to feel confident, to know that you are the prize, I’m the coach for you! Please take a step towards your authentic self by booking a 15-minute Connection Call and let’s explore whether now is the right time for you to work with me! There’s no obligation. Summer of Self-Care: Giving Yourself Permission to Say Yes

Ahhh, Summer. Do you imagine lazy nights in the backyard watching the fireflies and sipping a glass of wine?

Or maybe you're imagining yourself in you chair on a beach, hiking in the mountains or any other activity that relaxes your body, mind and soul!

And then reality hits.

The kids have a million things they need to be taken to.

Something happens at work that requires added time and energy.

Your romantic relationship blows up.

Your mom falls and can’t get up so you end up caring for her or making all the arrangements for her to be cared for.

Life happens.

It’s easy to let it rob us of time, money and even the energy to invest in our own self-care.

What do you do?

I know we can’t ignore life.

Yet, when something is a priority, it seems to get done and everything else falls into place, or doesn’t happen and it ends up being okay.

You know how it is right before you leave on vacation? Things get extra busy those last few days, yet, you get packed and get on the airplane or load the car and leave for the road trip! Because you prioritized it!

I’m curious? What’s the hardest part of self-care to prioritize when life throws a ton of stuff at you? Is it your sleep? Movement? How you eat/drink? Maybe you cancel your massage, acupuncture and coaching appointments. Hit reply and share it with me!

There’s no need to judge or criticize yourself. Simply notice how you stopped prioritizing your own self-care and make adjustments. Give yourself permission to take care of yourself, no matter what! You aren’t going for perfection. Every moment and every bit of energy you devote to yourself will pay off 10-fold!

What Your Inner-Child Wants You to Know

You have an inner-child who would love to tell you a thing or two!

We all have an inner-child who wants our love and attention.

Your inner-child is taking over the controls of your life in more ways than you probably know. They are crying, throwing temper tantrums and hiding in the corner - and that causes you to react in situations differently than you would if you knew your inner-child had just taken over.

The easiest way to access your inner-child and find out what they need and what they are feeling is to write to them. Even if you aren’t a “writer” or don’t have a journaling practice, you can do this.

Create a relaxing and safe space for yourself. Give yourself about 30 minutes if possible, more time might be even better, but it’s fine to start small. Even 5 or 10 minutes will do. If you have a picture of yourself as a little kid to look at, that can help.

Next, start a conversation with your inner-child. Ask them what they want or need? What they like and don’t like. What they think is fun and even what scares them. Start to create a relationship with your inner-child just like you would any other child.

Which means you don’t rush them. You're nice. Welcoming. You’re not pressing them for answers or being impatient. You’re saying, I love you. I’m here. I want to get to know you.

Then you wait.

You wait to hear what that inner-child has to say. And you listen. You don’t judge, dismiss or minimize what that inner-child says to you. You listen with compassion and love!

Are you ready?

I would love to hear about what you discover. And if it’s not something you want to do by yourself, let me know. I do inner-child work all the time with clients. I can help.

What do you believe that isn’t true?

We all have beliefs that aren’t true.

“Being fearful about money keeps me from being frivolous and careless with money.”

“I’m not good enough.”

“Taking risks is unsafe.”

“Love hurts.”

Each of these is untrue yet many of us believe them. Without question.

We all hold beliefs deep in our subconscious that are not true.

Those untrue beliefs limit us and cause us pain and suffering.

Then why do we hold onto them?

First off, we might not know the belief is there.

If it’s something passed onto us from our family, religion or culture most of us take on the belief because everyone around us believes it. We might not even believe it consciously, but because we grew up around it, we have a deep, subconscious belief that is in opposition to our conscious belief.

Which is why it’s so valuable to have a coach who can work through the conscious and subconscious aspects of your beliefs. A coach who can help you release the untrue beliefs and claim the conscious beliefs that serves you.

I have clients with untrue beliefs about romantic relationships. Those beliefs keep them trapped in emotionally abusive relationships or in relationships that keep them from expressing their authentic self.

In coaching they learn how to release the untrue belief and begin to claim their right to healthy, authentic relationships.

I have clients who have untrue beliefs about money. Beliefs that money is hard to make, that it’s easy to lose, that people want to cheat you, the government wants to take it all, they aren’t worthy of money, good with money… There are a lot of untrue beliefs about money!

In coaching they learn how to release those beliefs and claim what is true, abundance is all around us. You are worthy of the wealth you desire. You are worthy of the abundance you desire. Abundance is your natural state.

What untrue beliefs do you have?

Are you curious about how coaching can help you release those and replace them with beliefs that are true and support your authentic self-expression?

That’s what I’m here for. It’s my calling and my mission.

What is your heart telling you to do?

“Do what your heart tells you to do because you don’t owe anyone your life. Not even me.” The Mother in The Fabelman’s.

When I heard that line in the movie, The Fabelman’, it stopped me cold.

Truth.

You don’t owe anyone your life.

We are each called to live the life that our heart tells us to live.

The problem is, most of us are taught at a young age NOT to listen to our heart. We are taught to conform. To do things and make choices that will win us the love and approval of our family and our culture.

“Save me from the desire for love and approval.” Byron Katie.

That’s one of my favorite quotes!

It is our desire to be loved and approved of by others that takes us away from our truth. We sacrifice our truth, what the heart tells us to do, in order to please someone else.

2023 is the year of honoring my heart, my truth.

What about you?

Can you see where you’ve given up pieces of your heart and your truth to please someone else or to get their love and approval?

Most of us have.

The time has come to claim what is yours. Your heart. Your truth.

There’s nothing more sacred.

I’m here to help you. You don’t need to do it alone.

Let’s chat and see if now is the right time for you and if I am the right coach for you. Book a FREE 15-Minute Connection HERE.

When was the last time you had fun?

I noticed last week, I haven’t been having enough fun!

There have been good “reasons” for it. Maybe you’ve got “good reasons” too. Here are mine:.

  • I’ve had the shingles for over two months so my body is NOT  feeling 100%. They are almost healed, but my energy is low along with my motivation.

  • My mom is 89 and has suddenly started declining… quickly! So, that’s been a mental/emotional challenge as well as helping my sister figure out what we need to do for her care.

  • There’s been drama with my adult kids and their lives. Some of it good, a relative getting engaged… so sweet, my son running an Ultra Trail Run (37 miles! Good grief!)! Some of it not so good! A remodel job gone wrong, a roof leak in the middle of the night, a trip to the ER in the middle of the night, injuries to a wrist and calf…

Basically, life.

It’s easy to stop having fun when too much life happens.

Here’s my promise to you, now that I see it, I’m going to change it.

That’s what I help clients do, so right now, I’m practicing what I preach.

I took a boat trip with my son, daughter-in-law and the newly engaged love birds on Friday! It was soooo fun! I love being on a boat out on the water! And to do it with my family is extra special.

I scheduled a pedicure and I’m making sure I get to the beach several times a week. And, I ordered some water color paints because I really want to start painting!

I’ll be posting more fun stuff on IG because I realized, since I wasn’t having much fun, my IG feed looks very “businessy” as if all I do is coach!

Time to reacquaint myself, and you, with ALL of who I am, including the fun parts!!!

What can you do for fun today, or this week?

Tell me about it! Post it on IG and tag me! Let’s be on a mission to add more fun to our lives!!

What do you think is under there?

What’s hiding under your hood?

I love the metaphor of looking under the hood! It’s a great way to describe what I do as a coach.

A client tells me what they are experiencing that makes them uncomfortable, anxious, angry or stressed. The way you tell your mechanic that you hear a funny noise in your car.

Then we look under the hood to see what’s actually going on.

If all we focused on was the “funny noise” I might have you turn your music up, or wear ear plugs when you drive so you don’t hear it.

That’s ridiculous! At least we know it is when we’re dealing with our car.

But we do that sort of thing all the time with “funny noises” in our lives. Instead of getting the mechanic (me, in this case) to look under the hood and figure out what’s really going on so we can address the real issue, we binge Netfilx or have another glass of wine, or decide if we were more disciplined we’d be fine.

Nope. That’s not it. That’s why those things don’t work in the long-run. Sure, like turning up the music, it might drown out the funny noise for a while, but… nothing is happening to address the issue.

Believe me, once we find the issue and start to heal it, the “funny noise” will go away or we’ll make a minor adjustment to stop it. But without healing the cause, nothing we do will last.

That’s why I love what I do! Clients come to me with their “funny noise” and we look under the hood, heal the cause and get them humming down the road without any funny noises!

I created a free worksheet to take you through one of the processes I use to look under the hood with clients. You can download it HERE.

The worksheet is simple and powerful!

If you have any questions or you're interested in exploring working with me, book a 15-Minute Connection Call. Your timing is perfect. I have a couple of openings right now, so don’t wait. That “funny noise” isn’t going to go away by itself. 😄
