Are You Worth It?

I think you are.

You're worth knowing you matter.

You're worth knowing you are enough.

You're worth knowing you are loved.

You're worth living in abundance

You're worth knowing the Universe is conspiring to support you.

I’ll be home from my retreat in two days.

I’m wondering, do you ever struggle with questioning your worth?

I’ve got some great coaching magic that will transform that feeling of not being worthy.

I put it all in my digital program, Enough Already. I’m finishing up my retreat in Cancun, but you can still register and get going on Module One. I’ll be hosting a coaching call on Thursday, June 28, so you’ll want register before then. Enough Already has four modules and is chock-full of transformational tools to turn that unworthiness into personal power.

The kind of personal power that asks for a raise, leaves a hurtful relationship, starts a business, begins a creative project and changes the world. You can get all the deets here.

I’ll be back tomorrow and I can’t wait to see you!

xoxo, Brenda

Is it Possible to Thrive in Transition?

Yes!

Unequivocally, Yes!

I am the Queen of transition! I’ve left relationships, jobs, changed careers entirely, moved…oh boy, have I moved. I probably should have bought my own moving company, at least then I could make money on it! I’ve raised my kids, emptied my nest and become a grandmother.

I feel like I have enough experience to assure you that it is possible to thrive during transition.

I love coaching people through their transitions, in careers or any other area of life. Don’t struggle alone.

When I get back from my retreat next week, (read about that here if you missed it), I’m going to have some time open on my calendar because I’ve transitioned out of my full-time job into full-time coaching, which, has been my favorite transition of all! If you want to explore working with me one-on-one, click here to schedule a 10 min call and we’ll discuss if and how I can help you.

I can’t wait to work with you!

xoxo,  Brenda

The Men in Your Life

I hope you’re celebrating the wonderful men in your life today.

I’m headed to Cancun to spend a week with a man.

A man, his team and about 675 other people!

As you read this I’m on my way to Cancun for a retreat with Dr. Joe Dispenza. I love his work and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to attend a week-long retreat with him. Dr. Joe is a neuroscientist, among other things, and has done brilliant work in the arena of brain science. If you are as interested in these things as this mind-set coach is, I’d start with his book, Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself. It rocked my world!

I’m taking this time to take a break from life. From my normal routine.

To focus all my energy and attention on my own growth and creating my future. Dr. Joe’s work includes a lot of guided meditation, so I know we’ll be doing a lot of that. I understand we meet for meditation, at least occasionally at 4:00 am! My obsession with becoming the best version of myself I can possibly be, is the only thing that will get me up for 4 am meditation!

So, I’m going off the grid. No cell phone. No social media. No photos on FB of the white sandy beaches of Cancun. At least, not until I’m back home! Then you’ll get bombarded.

I encourage you to find small ways to “retreat” in your life. It makes all the difference. Take five minutes. Take an hour. A day. A week, when you can! Focus on your breath. Settle into your body. Focus on the moment. Not the ones from earlier today, or the moments that will come later. Be in the now. That’s where all magic is found.

Now. We don’t often spend a lot of time there. I’m going to take a week with an intention of being in the moment. Of creating the next chapter of my life, from the infinite possibilities of now.

I am “off, off and away” and know that I will return refreshed, inspired, transformed and ready to share it all with you!! Until next week….Bon Voyage!

xoxo Brenda

This irritates the crap out of me!

Inspiration without action.

What good is it?

Who cares if you’re inspired if it doesn’t change you.

The truth.

It takes more.

Inspiration + Mindset + Action.

Your mindset will sabotage every great inspiration and action you can put together. Do I need to remind you of January and the three times you went to the gym…You know I’m telling the truth here!

Stop the cycle.

I figured out how and put it into a lovely digital program called Enough Already. It’s as easy and clicking here to register.

I’ll reward you generously when you do!

Right now, when you register before midnight, Thursday, June 14th, you’ll also get two 30-minute coaching sessions with me and four group coaching sessions with your fellow bad asses in Enough Already. That’s a $1,250 value for free, because you decided to take action now instead of waiting. It doesn’t get any better than that!

Don’t be inspired.

Don’t just take some action.

Liberate yourself to lasting change with a transformed mindset.

Check it all out and register before June 14th! Because you are Enough Already!

Ever feel like giving up?

Are you the kind of person who has a dream?

You want to make an impact on the world? On your family? Your community? Your work?

I bet sometimes as you pursue those fantastic dreams, you get derailed. Something stops you.

I bet there is a voice inside your head telling you that you are not _________ enough to make your dreams come true.

Does it sound like this?

Not smart enough

Not educated enough

Not connected to enough of the right people

Not old or young enough

There isn’t enough time

Not enough money

Not enough resources

I’m here to tell you…ENOUGH ALREADY!

You are enough. You have enough. Right now.

Registration is OPEN for my new online program, Enough Already!

I’ll coach you through knowing you are Enough Already!

I created a kick-ass online program. A bold statement. Why is it kick-ass?

Because I’m going to coach you through the entire process from those awesome, big dreams of yours, to finding those insidious, beastly “Not Enough” thoughts. Then, we’ll blast them with down-to-earth, hard-hitting coaching magic that will melt their wicked impact on your life. And for the final touch, we’ll take action towards our dreams.

How do I know how to do this? How can I teach you?

Because I’ve been there and done that! It’s a cliché, but it’s true… That’s right. I’m not too proud to say it. I’ve been where you are. I was so frustrated because my life didn’t reflect my dreams. I took a deep dive and discovered that I had all these, “Not Enough” thoughts running around in my head that sabotaged the things I was trying to do to reach my dreams.

Once I know what’s in my way, I’ll move heaven and earth to get it out of my way!

I’ll coach you and teach you to do the same.

So, let’s kick some serious ass and get you on track to live the life of your dreams.

Here’s the super cool part.

When you register before midnight, Thursday, June 14th, you’ll also get two 30-minute coaching sessions with me and four group coaching sessions with your fellow bad asses in Enough Already. That’s a $450 value for free, because you decided to take action now instead of waiting. It doesn’t get any better than that!

You’ll find all the details for Enough Already here.

Check it out. Register. Now. You won’t regret it.

Are things falling apart?

Does it feel like your life is falling apart?

We all have times where it feels like things are falling apart.

Maybe you’re in one of those times now.

We lose a job. We lose a relationship. We lose our home. We move. The car breaks down. The savings account dries up. We’re bombarded with upheaval and transition.

In times like these, it’s so easy to ask, “what did I do wrong?” Or it’s kissing cousin, “what’s wrong with me, that this happened?”

I’m here to tell you, nothing is wrong with you and you didn’t do anything wrong. There may be a lesson to learn, but that’s different.

When we do something, it doesn’t work, and we learn the lesson, we don’t label ourselves as “wrong.” A lesson learned doesn’t have that level of harshness and judgment.

How do we make the shift out of self-blame and judgment when life is topsy turvy and we’re feeling like everything has been turned up-side-down?

We start with self-compassion. We say, Enough Already.

We isolate the thoughts that keep us spinning.

“I screwed up again.”
“This always happens to me.”

“I’m never going to get the job, relationship, body, money, I want.”

And so on and so on.

Once you have the thought, you can work with it.

That’s what I’m teaching women to do this week in our Enough Already 5 Day Challenge.

You should join us!

The 5 Day Challenge starts tomorrow, so sign up now to get all the goodies. Each day you’ll get an email from me with a recorded message with your challenge. We have a private Facebook Group where we’ll gather to encourage each other, I’ll coach and answer questions and everyone will post their response to the day’s challenge.

At the end of the week I’m giving away a beautiful Enough Already necklace that was handmade and designed by the fabulous designer, Nilla Webber. Here’s a peak at it:

Join the challenge by clicking here and signing up. It’s easy, fun and transformative!

Live Lavishly Light Episode #24

If we want to live in a loving, kind world, we have to learn to value difference.

You don't have to agree with it, but to live lavishly in this diverse world, we have to be able to feel free and open to hear and consider different ideas.

As Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie wrote in her book 'Feminist Manifesto in 15 Suggestions,' "Make difference ordinary, make difference normal, teach her not to attach value to difference because difference is the reality of our world, and by teaching her about difference you're equipping her to survive in a diverse world."

I'd love to hear how you embrace diversity in your life!

xoxo Brenda

On a Scale of Zero to Freaked Out! Where are you?

It’s easy to be freaked out!

From politics and global warning, to our careers and families, to our personal wants and dreams.

What do you do when you’re freaked out?

  • Do you shop too much?
  • Drink too much?
  • Over-eat?
  • Deprive yourself?
  • Lose sleep?
  • Get angry?
  • Compulsively busy yourself with distractions?
  • Slip into denial?
  • “Awfulize” (Imagine the worst possible outcome and feeling as if the terrible outcome has occurred, even though it hasn’t happened.)

What if there’s another way?

Can we approach our most difficult challenges with poise, power, purpose and even, pleasure?

I’m here to tell you, it’s possible.

I’m a big fan of poise, power and purpose. But today…let’s focus on pleasure.

Pleasure Power.

Is that even a thing? Pleasure Power?

I assure you it is.

Pleasure can change your life.

Not matter how awful it is. No matter how freaked out you are. Pleasure has power in it. The power to shift your mindset and even, open a door.

Let me tell you a story. Recently, I was totally freaked out! I had a very difficult situation ahead of me. It was real. This was not a challenge in my imagination, it was real and barreling down on me.

These are the times when I know I need to put my own coaching skills to the test. What’s the point of being a coach if I’m not practicing what I preach?

I stopped my dizzying mind and asked, “What would give me pleasure right now?” Let me say that even asking the question takes some preparation. You see, if you’re in your dizzying mind when you ask that question you may get an answer like, “Drink a shaker full of Cosmos!” or “Get on Nordstrom.com and buy some new shoes!” (I have clearly just revealed two of my weaknesses!)

First, stop the dizzying mind. Take some slow, intentional breaths. The breath is the fastest way to begin to change your mind and body chemistry. Slow down. Breathe. Then ask, “How can I give myself pleasure right now?”

It’s important that you think of something that can be done immediately. You’re breaking the freak-out pattern, so “book a massage for next week,” won’t help. We want an immediate interruption to move from freaking out to pleasure.

For me it was simple. A hot bath, lavender Epsom salts and ____________. (Put your “adult” thinking cap on to fill in the blank, I don’t want to go all TMI with you!)

When I got out of the tub, I felt different. Allowing my body to experience pleasure had given me the mind shift I needed to go from awfulizing and being freaked-out to the reality that there are infinite possibilities when I’m poised and open enough to become aware of them.

When we tap into our pleasure power, we tap into possibility. We ask smart questions. We ask for help if we need it. We aren’t freaked out.

How will you tap into your pleasure power today?

Inner Critic or Inner Cheerleader?

Do you wish you had an inner cheerleader instead of an inner critic?

How many times a day do you catch yourself saying something harsh to yourself?

“That was dumb.”

“I can’t believe you did that!”

“Who do you think you are?”

What if you replaced it with:

“You’re beautiful.”

“I knew you would keep going until you found the solution.”

“I love the way you ______ (cook, fold cloths, dress, treat others, etc.)”

“Your kindness and generosity are inspiring.”

I bet you would be a lot happier.

I bet you would be a lot more productive.

I bet your light would shine even brighter in the world. And goodness knows we need that!

Here’s the deal. I’m shooting straight here. It’s as simple as changing your thoughts. And yes, that can be simple and hard at the same time.

It’s hard to stop something that comes so easily. Ask yourself, “did I think about criticizing myself before I did it?” Probably not. That thought simply appeared in your mind. Boom. There it is. Like a two-year-old that wandered into the yard.

When we let a two-year-old wander in the yard, without a fence or supervision, sooner or later, she’ll wander out into the street. That’s where the real danger is.

Your mind is an inner two-year-old!

Unless you put a fence around it, unless you say, “No,” she will wander and wander until she runs into the street.

You know what I’m talking about. Your mind can take you on a journey that spirals from “I wish I had enough money to eat out tonight,” to, “I’m going to be a bag-lady living under a bridge!” in a skinny minute. Or this one, “My kid is late coming home from dance lessons,” to, “My kid has been hit by a car and is in the hospital or (if you really want to go dark) is dead.”

We all do it. The unchecked mind takes us on all kinds of trips.

You can train your mind to go to a much nicer place. You can train it to support, love and nurture you like a perfect parent would. It can become, your inner cheerleader.

It does take work, but let me tell you, it’s worth it! The freedom and empowerment are amazing!

As a coach, I love helping people make this type of shift, from inner critic to inner cheerleader. In fact, I have a FREE training next week on that very topic! Why don’t you join me? We’re gathering at 7:30 Eastern, 4:30 Pacific on Thursday, May 31st.

I’ll be taking you through a specific process I’ve used in my own life and use with clients. You’re going to love it!

Click here to register for Turn Off Your Inner Critic and Turn On Your Inner Cheerleader.

When we live lavishly, our inner cheerleader is in charge of the motivation in our lives!

Who “runs the show” in your life?

Is it your kids, your spouse, your cranky boss, the economy, your friends or an organization you belong to?

Here’s the deal, if you feel like they are "running the show."

They are zapping your power.

You need to "run the show" of your life.

That’s where the power is.

And I don’t mean power-over. Yuk. No one wants that.

I’m talking legit, earned, deserved, personal power. The power that is yours to use or set aside and let someone else ‘run the show.’

Personal power is kind.

Personal power has clarity.

Personal power asks for what it needs and wants.

If you sometimes struggle with accessing your personal power, it’s time for an upgrade!

I’ve got just the thing.

Join me tomorrow evening. That’s Monday, May 21, at 7:30 pm Eastern/4:30 pm Pacific for a free webinar, Upgrade Your Earning Power. We’re going to talk about the thoughts we have that prevent us from accessing our personal power. More importantly, I’m going to give you some awesome coaching tools to slay those thoughts.

You’ll leave the webinar empowered to:

·         Ask for a raise

·         Volunteer for the high-profile project

·         For entrepreneurs, you’ll have the confidence to raise your price or expand your business

·         Ask for what you need in any area of your life.

It may seem too good to be true, but it’s not. If you’ll spend an hour with me, in a quiet place without distractions, I’ll show you exactly what I did to coach myself through some serious professional hurdles (think jobless and almost penniless, I’ll tell you all about it on the webinar), and I’ve used the same strategy in every area of my life.

These tools will help you amplify your personal power and that makes figuring out the next step really easy.

You can signup for the webinar here.

I can’t wait to see how your life will change when you Upgrade Your Earning Power!

“You’re not in charge of me!”

That’s what my three-year-old granddaughter loudly declared to her older brother last weekend.

I had to laugh.

And, it got me thinking…

Every time we feel like someone, or something, outside of us is “in charge” of what’s going on in our lives, we’re wrong.

Blunt and true.

We’re wrong.

When things go wrong it’s so easy to tag another person and think, “If they had done something differently, I wouldn’t be in this mess!”

Here’s the problem. You can’t do a damn thing about another person. The only person we have any control over is ourselves.

My granddaughter is right. The only one in charge of you, is you.

I get it though. People do impact us. We can get thrown off course by someone else.

What do we do?

We work with our own thoughts about that, and what the problem is. For example, you may own your business and feel like you can’t raise your prices because you’ll lose clients. (It’s the client’s fault.)

You may have a job you hate, but you’re afraid it will be too hard to find another one. (It’s the economy’s fault.)

You may want to ask for a raise, or promotion or volunteer for a high-profile project, but your boss doesn’t like you. (It’s the boss's fault.)

Or maybe you simply don’t have the confidence to go after what you want in life. Again…thoughts are creating the lack of confidence.

Here’s where I come in.

Let’s slay those thoughts. Let’s get your confidence amped-up and ask for the raise, quit the job, raise your prices and anything else that’s important to you!

How? I’ll show you.

Join me Monday, May 21, 7:30 pm Eastern/4:30 pm Pacific for a free webinar, “Upgrade Your Earning Power.” I’ll show you how I slayed my thoughts that my problems were because of my ex, or the economy, or simply that “I’m not good enough.”  I took my power back and totally changed my life.

I use the same coaching tools I used on myself with clients, in group settings, like my digital program, Enough Already, and in 1:1 coaching. I’ll teach you how to do it on the webinar, Upgrade Your Earning Power.

All the details and the registration are here.

Join me and get ready to Upgrade Your Earning Power!

To be a mother...or not to be....

This blog is for everyone who’s NOT a mom and for those who are.

I love you both! It’s so refreshing to see the cultural “norm” of motherhood being questioned and abandoned. If you don’t have an intense, and I mean, intense, desire to have kids, please don’t. And never, never apologize for it! A woman isn’t “better” because she wants to be a mother. Sometimes I think we slip into temporary insanity, otherwise, why would we want to do it?! #kiddingnotkidding

Motherhood

Being a mother is my greatest joy and at times, my greatest challenge. I have four children in their 30’s. They live in CA, PA and Equatorial Guinea, Africa, which is why there aren’t some adorable family photos in this blog. My son in Africa has been away for five years now. Holy smokes do I miss hugging that kids and being able to even talk on the phone! (I did get my daughter and grandaughter to join me for a photo shoot in Manhattan Beach, CA recently though, so I've included one of those photos)

Here’s what I know for sure

Watching your adult kids create the lives they love is the greatest thrill. My youngest in Africa is creating video games and loves it, he also teaches English as a second language. Next up is a mother, fitness instructor, wife extraordinaire and helps me with a lot of my ‘behind the scenes’ work. Then there’s another son, he’s in tech, just took a new job with a start-up in SoCal, loves his wife and dog and recently said to me, “we make conscious decisions to make our journey through life fun and interesting. It’s okay if we misstep.” As my oldest daughter said when I shared that with her, “Your work is done with that one!” Then there’s the oldest. Wise and strong. Brave and true. She’s a fabulous wife, mother of two, and has a gift for kindness that astounds me.

Whether you’re celebrating your children, or the fact that you don’t have any, please celebrate the gift that you are as a woman to the world. I am a big believer that women will change the world in this next generation and you are part of that. Regardless of age, you are the change the world needs!

I had a couple of openings for one-on-clients. If you're interested in exploring the benefits of working with me, complete this easy application and we'll schedule a quick call to decide if one-on-one coaching is right for you!

The Power of Connection

You know how it is, the difference between going somewhere with a group of friends and being one-on-one with your BFF? It’s different. Group gatherings are awesome and I wouldn’t skip them, but sometimes I need me some 1:1 with my bestie!

The same is true for coaching.

I had the most powerful experience last week. I work with a business coach in group settings. I’ve taken digital programs she’s offered, been to her webinars, I’ve been in two live events with her.

Then…last week I had my first 1:1 with her. Wow! It was stunning how much I got out of it when it was just us talking about my specific business and it’s needs instead of me listening to her teach concepts and strategy. It was worth every penny to upgrade to a 1:1 relationship with her.

Now it's Your Turn.

Where do you want transformation; a life upgrade so-t-speak, enough to work 1:1 with me?

Don't get me wrong, I love people who take my online program, Enough Already. We have a private FB group so I engage with them there, coach them and help them free themselves from the limiting thoughts that rob them of their power. If that sounds like something you can use, check it out here

I love people who read my blogs (thank you) and watch my YouTube videos, who sign up for my webinars and take advantage of other free offerings. In fact, I have a webinar coming up on Monday called, Upgrade Your Earning Power. Click here for more details and to sign up.

Here’s what I know for sure: The people who work with me 1:1 get dramatic results. Here’s what a couple of them have said:

"Brenda helped me dig deep to find MY truth and MY voice, which were lost for a very long time!  Working with her was eye opening, so many "ah-ha" moments.  It was amazing to see how patterns in my life kept repeating." Claire.

“…I was dealing with tough decisions in my life and had an overall feeling I was not being true to myself.  Brenda put me at ease. I knew I had found someone to assist me with finding my vision and help me live from my higher-self...” Ron.

Keep participating in all the good free stuff, and heads-up, there’s a lot more coming. And take my digital program, Enough Already, and heads-up, there are more group offerings coming as well…

BUT, don’t miss the opportunity to work with me 1:1.

I recently had a few spots for 1:1 coaching open-up in my schedule. Is one of them for you? I’ll even sweeten the pot by giving you $100 discount on either the three-session package or the six-session package.  You’ll use the coupon code, Power, when you check out, but first, APPLY HERE. We’ll handle the payment after our initial call.

I can't wait to hear from you!
