How to Create More Joy

We can all use more joy!

Joy is empowering.

Joy is expanding.

Joy is actually a natural state for you, it’s just that most of us have been conditioned to think it’s not.

Today I wanted to give you some ideas for cultivating more joy, empowerment and expansion. The more you feel it, the more natural it seems.

  1. Be intentional about joy. Look for it. Notice it. Putting on a lovely body cream can give you joy. But not if you’re rushed and not paying attention. It becomes one more thing to do. Let the small mundane things in life be part of cultivating joy. Set the intention to notice how lovely that cream is and how good it feels on your body! Then think of ten other mundane things in your day you can turn into little hits of joy!

  2. Small things matter. These tulips I bought for $10 have been bringing me joy for days! It’s a small thing, but because I am intentional about creating joy, those tulips become a hit of joy!

  3. Be grateful and appreciative for the many things in your life that bring you joy! A few big things might come to mind right away; a relationship that brings you a lot of joy, your home, or a recent vacation, but don’t forget the small things that you probably take for granted; the way your heart beats without you asking it to, the fact that you have hot water you can access by turning on the tap… every day, all day! The books you have or the beautiful clothes you have (even if you have some you don’t think are beautiful) we are surrounded by so many wonderful things! Being grateful for them increases the joy in our lives.

What do you say, how about we work on cultivating more joy, together! My week started with the tulips. What will you do to cultivate joy in your life today? Hit reply and let me know!

What’s your happiness set-point?

Did you know that we are predisposed to a happiness “set-point?”

If you’ve ever noticed it seems easier for some people to be happier than you are - or visa versa, today’s podcast interview with Kim Strobel will tell you why.

Kim is a happiness expert and we had a dynamic and exciting conversation on today’s episode of Liberate Your People Pleaser. You can listen HERE or watch the video HERE

Our conversation inspired me to get very transparent about some things I’ve been working on, but more than that, Kim’s got some very specific tools you can use to improve your level of happiness.

And if you’re thinking that Kim is an expert on happiness because her life has been overflowing with happiness since the day she was born… guess again!

Kim shares very intimately her experience with panic attacks and how that took her on a journey to the happiness coaching she does now.

Don’t miss this inspiring and practical episode for increasing your level of happiness!

There’s no better way to start 2021!

Dare to be Joyful

“Have you noticed that it seems easier for the world to love a suffering woman than to love a joyful, confident woman? Glennon Doyle, Untamed

Do you dare to be joyful during a pandemic?

Do you dare to be joyful when a friend is struggling? Or one of your kids? Or your spouse?

Do you dare to be joyful when the economy is… uncertain?

Do you dare to be joyful even if every thing in life isn’t joyful?

I’ll take that dare!

I’m done with suffering.

Suffering is a choice.

Does that mean everything's coming up rainbows and unicorns in my life? Hell No!

But, what am I willing to give so much power to, that I will let it steal my joy?

Of course, I’m not encouraging you to bypass your emotions. But, emotions that are felt when they arise, fade very quickly. It’s our resistance to them that keeps them hanging around.

I don’t want anything outside of me to be more powerful than what’s inside of me.

And, what is inside of me? Joy.

And Love.

And Compassion.

And Kindness.

Why in the world would I let someone or some situation steal those from me?

Is it easy? No. If it was easy, everyone would do it.

That’s why I’m a coach. To be the resource for someone who is ready to choose joy over suffering. Someone who knows they are their own worst enemy and is ready to become their best advocate!

Now that’s a change worth making.

I’m ready if you are.

I’ve got a couple of one-on-one client openings in my calendar. Let’s explore working together. It’s easy. Book a complimentary 15-Minute Discovery Call and we’ll figure it out together. Book yours HERE.
