Live Lavishly

Grab a Cocktail and Let's Get REAL Together!

I love to eat and drink with people.

There’s something about gathering around a good drink and some great food that allows for a certain intimacy and openness that isn’t always easy to find.

That’s why I always have my favorite hangouts in any city I visit often or live in.

Because I’m currently living a “location independent” lifestyle, I decided to create such a space myself!

In a perfect world, I’d make your drink for you, even fix some great appetizers or dinner, but alas…that also creates a lot of logistic limitations.

I’m creating Cocktails and Coaching as a virtual answer to my logistic limitations!

While I can’t make your drink, I’ll count on your for that, I can create an open, safe and fun environment where we can hang out, have a few laughs and open up to the things that puzzle us, bother us, that we’re stuck on, pissed off by, surprised by and delighted by!

Nothing is off-limits in Cocktails and Coaching. You bring it. We’ll talk about it. I’ll give coaching tips and tricks, life-hacks and other bits of wisdom. (The more you drink the wiser I get!)

I’m also inviting a cool co-host each week. I’m stoked about that!

Our first Cocktails and Coaching will be on Wednesday, May 15, 5:00 pm Pacific, 8 pm Eastern.

We’ll gather in my private Facebook Group, Live Lavishly: The Art of Sustainable Transformation. If you aren’t a member, use this link to join.

This is an “all guys, all gals” welcome sort of party! The FB Group is now open to men and women. I love coaching men and have always felt it unnatural to exclude them so... welcome guys!

To submit a question or topic you want us to discuss and coach around, just fill out the form on my website at www.BrendaFlorida.com/Cocktails-Coaching

My first co-host is the intuitive, gorgeous and incomparable, Jess Bubbico! Jess has a weekly radio show, Method Meets Magic and she is a genius, intuitive coach. You can find out more about Jess and her free Facebook Challenge here.

Let’s do it! Invite your friends. Submit your questions and topics. Grab your cocktail and join me, every Wednesday at 5 Pacific/8 Eastern in the Facebook Group, for Cocktails and Coaching!

I can't wait to see you at the first gathering of Cocktails and Coaching in the private FB Group, Live Lavishly, on Wednesday, May 13, 5 pm Pacific, 8 pm Eastern!

Talk about it Tuesday! Episode 3 - What do you Yearn for?

This week on, “Talk About it Tuesday!” we unlock what it is you truly yearn for.

There are a lot of things that we yearn for. A lot of these things are carried with us over several years. For some of us, they’ve been there since our childhood.

Today, I’ll be talking about how to unlock these yearnings and how to use them to create change in our lives.

You are bigger than your fear.

Breathe that in. You are bigger than your fear.

When you’re living with fear, it doesn’t feel that way. I know.

Here’s the deal. If you couldn’t pull off the ‘thing’ that scares you, you wouldn’t even have the thought to do it!

Hear that truth.

We imagine things and want the things we want, we have the ambitions we have, the dreams and yearnings we have, BECAUSE we have the ability to achieve them. Thomas Edison had an idea for a light bulb. No one believed he could do it. He failed 10,000 times! I imagine he felt a little fear during those 10,000 failures. And then… he got it.

Your dreams, ambitions and yearnings are a gift from the Divine. The world needs you to do what you’re afraid to do.

I don’t know about you, but I want it all!

I want to live, love and thrive in my entire life! It’s not enough to be a good mom, or great friend, or have a fun sex life, or a successful business…take out the “or” baby! I want it all! That’s why I love all the women gathering for my new program, Live Lavishly!

Live Lavishly will show you how to slay that fear. You’re bigger than your fear, and… you may need some help slaying it. No problem. There’s no shame in that! We aren’t designed to “go it alone” in life. That’s why I love being a life coach! Coaching people through what scares them and gets in the way of the life they desire, well, that’s what I yearn for!

Won’t you join me and a powerful group of women who are choosing to get past their fears and Live Lavishly! Get all the deets and register here. Now. Yes. Choose you.

I hate it when I do this!

Have you ever kept quiet when you knew the answer?

Have you ever passed on an opportunity because you thought someone else was more deserving?

Have you ever been less than you are, in an attempt to make someone else feel more comfortable?

How often do we “lose” when we could “win?” Play small in order to fit in, not make waves or not make someone “feel bad.”

It’s time to stop.

That might sound more boss-y than coach-y, but it’s appropriate in this case. Sometimes, we just need to stop doing what we’re doing.

It never serves the world, or our greater good, to be less than we are. Think of yourself as the parent of a talented child. Maybe she’s a brainiac who pretends she doesn’t know the answer so the other kids don’t tease her. Maybe she’s a field hockey player who purposely misses a goal so her teammate doesn’t feel bad for not scoring as many.

If you were her mother, you would tell her to stop that! That her playing small, not being her absolute best, doesn’t serve anyone. That the kid who is teasing her is jealous and the teammate who feels bad, has her own insecurities. And, that’s not her problem. Let them work on their jealously and insecurity with their parents, a teacher or coach. It’s not her job to fix their problems. It’s her job to be the best she can possible be! Isn’t that what you’d tell her?

That’s what I’m here to tell you. Stop shrinking. Stop playing small. Stop being less than you can be.

Here’s where coach Brenda comes in (we’ll set boss-y Brenda aside.) I know that to stop doing something we’ve done for a long time, is easier said than done.

I’ve got two solutions.

1.     Start to become aware of every time you shrink or play small. We can’t change something until we are aware of it, the moment we do it. That creates the opportunity to change and make a different decision. If you’re aware, but still struggle with choosing you to stand in your truth, make a list of the thoughts you have that stop you. They probably sound something like this, “you’re being arrogant.” “Who do you think you are?” “You don’t want to make them feel bad.” Take those thoughts and become your own ideal parent. Tell your beautiful self that your job is to be the best you. If that bothers someone, it’s their job to figure out why they don’t want you to be your best.

2.     My new program, Live Lavishly, is the perfect solution to this challenge. It’s so easy to play small and Live Lavishly has tons of tools to help you break that habit and replace it with empowering decisions and actions. It’s a ‘whole-life’ solution. We dive into everything from our bodies, sex, relationships, money, our careers… we want to Live Lavishly in all aspects of our lives! Join me and a beautiful community of women to stop playing small and getting the tools and skills they need to Live Lavishly! Check out all the details and register here.

Let’s promise each other that we will stop shrinking. No matter how hard it is.

Marianne Williamson said it best, “There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

I'm so happy spring has finally arrived!

It's a great reminder that there are things in your life ready to sprout and bloom!

What do you have bubbling up that want to grow or expand?

Are you nurturing it?

In today's Live Lavishly Light episode, we'll look for those things that need to grow and expand in our lives. I'll share a couple of mine with you. I'd love to hear about yours in the comments below.

PS

I'm going to have five spots open up for one-on-one coaching soon. I haven't been able to offer much one-on-one coaching because of other commitments, so I'm excited my calendar is opening up.

One-on-one coaching is the most powerful way to explore what wants to "come alive" in your life. We'll create a safe space to expand and discover what's ahead for you. To see what it's like to work with me privately, hop on over to my coaching page, scroll to the bottom and you'll see my scheduler. Select "30 Min Intro Call" and book your time. There's no charge - no obligation, it's a great opportunity to see if we will work well together.

I can't wait to hear from you!

There is nothing more important than doing the things we need to do to really make our dreams come true.

I'm here to tell you that it is worth every effort, every sacrifice, every early morning or late night or weekend that you're working on your dream to make it come to life, it's worth it.

I want you to love yourself enough to make that happen because the world needs it. Do whatever it takes to love yourself enough to go for your dreams, to create the life that you are yearning for.

Let me share an example from my life right now to demonstrate! What are you doing to make your dreams come true?

It is very powerful to ask the right questions.

From what you'll eat today to how you'll handle a financial crisis, I am here to suggest a practical way to work with it. To pose really good questions for yourself in order to have a powerful impact on your decision-making.

Whatever the conundrum is, I want to challenge you to turn your question around into one that feels inspiring and full of possibility.

Let's explore the infinite possibilities in this week's Live Lavishly Light!

I am loving Netflix's Queer Eye reboot! It is all about transformation.

Transformation is an ongoing journey in our lives. Maybe you're stuck, maybe you're ignoring something small like that messy junk drawer or your lack of exercise.

Let's choose one thing to begin transforming this week.

Live Lavishly, xoxo Brenda

What a community of women means to me

Do you have a community of women that encourage, love and support you, through thick and thin?

I do and I’m so grateful for them! Those of you who follow me on Facebook have seen the pictures of what we like to call, Goddess Weekend! BTW, if you don’t follow me on FB, I’d love for you to. My personal feed is here - and my business page is here.

It all started several years ago. I had a very good friend who had a very good friend. My friend’s friend and I weren’t close, but we had a connection through our mutual friend. First my friend’s friend moved, then I did. This complicated things dramatically for our mutual friend. With two of her best friends living in different parts of the state, she recommended we get together for an over-night together.

As you can imagine the connection between all of us grew deeply over time. Then we added another friend, sometimes we invite more. One day, it will probably be the recipe for a coaching retreat I’ll offer, and we’ll get a group of us together...Goddess Weekend on Steroids!

There’s nothing like a circle of women who come together with the intention of loving each other, staying out of judgment (and let me tell you, I’ve done some crazy shit that I could easily be judged for!) and supporting each other’s hopes and dreams. We talk about our families, relationships, jobs, the businesses we have started, are starting or want to start. We cry. We laugh. We drink a lot of champagne! We always leave feeling better than when we arrived!

Do you have at least one person you can count on to love you, not judge you, encourage and support you?

It doesn’t have to be someone who lives near you. You don’t even have to get together physically. We got together virtually one time because we couldn’t get our calendars together to get face-to-face. Get creative about how you connect. Don’t make a lot of rules for it to “work.”

If you feel like you don't have that, find it. How do you find it? You be it. Be the person you want to find. Be loving. Stay out of judgment. Be encouraging and supportive. Do all of that for yourself. Then extend it to others. You’ll find your goddesses!

We all need a few Goddesses to live lavishly!
